 Mark T. Marshall

Mark T. Marshall was born in August 1979 in Limerick, Ireland. He studied Computer Systems at the University of Limerick, receiving his B.Sc. degree in 2001. He received his M.Sc. in Computer Science, also from the University of Limerick, in 2004. His M.Sc. project was the creation of a system for two-handed gesture control of computer applications.

He has worked, amongst other things, as a web designer, computer programmer, R&D developer and sound engineer. He was a researcher for the Sounding Object project and was the technical coordinator for the Enterprise Ireland sponsored Visibreath project. He has also worked on a number of projects and interactive exhibits while at the Interaction Design Centre at the University of Limerick.

Mark completed his Ph.D. in Music Technology at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in 2009. His research focused on sensor and interface design for interaction with digital musical instruments.

Currently Mark works as a postdoctoral research assistant in the Interaction and Graphics group at the University of Bristol, UK. His current research is focused on integrating haptic and tactile feedback with multitouch computer interfaces.
